this is what i’ve been avoiding all summer.

at the beginning of summer, i told him that i like him, scratch that, i told him that i LOVE him. but i knew from the start that i’m no more than a friend to him and never will i be.

i told myself i wasn’t going to miss him this summer. i ignored him, i stopped looking at his tweets, stopped “stalking” him online except times when i see his blog posts shared in facebook, that’s the only time when i notice him.

i stopped sending him group messages.

time came when i no longer care what he does. i lived my summer facing my own problems, HIM NOT INCLUDED.

enrollment came and i got to see him again. at first it was like, “nah. i don’t like him that way anymore.” so we had lunch with friends. and that was it. it just came to me that i can’t lie to myself.

his laugh. his shallowness. his eyes. his hair. his appetite. the way he walks, talks, and takes a bite. the way he sips his frappe. the way he fools around with his friends. the way he acts like he’s annoyed when he really isn’t. everything about him just brings me back to the time i first admitted to myself that i love him. AND IT SUCKS. i know i’ll never be more than a friend to him.
